Ada Catherine Husby

A celebration of her life will be held on January 13, 2024 at Fair Street Reformed Church in Kingston, NY.

There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 with Sons of Norway and  a service to follow at 11 am.

Ada Catherine Husby (Anstey) of Kingston, NY, passed away November 16, 2023 at her son's home in Roswell, NM. She was born on December 31, 1936 in Back Harbour, Twillingate, Newfoundland, the third of five children to Bessie (Wheeler) and Arthur Anstey. As a child, she moved to New York City, where she later met and married the love of her life, Arne Husby. They were married for 63 years before a tragic accident took the life of Arne.

Ada was a homemaker and enjoyed many hobbies, including crochet, knitting, embroidery, quilting, and gardening, but most of all she loved her family, and her family cherished and loved her in return. Her smile was dubbed pure gold by her loved ones. Surviving Ada are her children James Husby and his wife Catherine of Roswell, NM and Jennifer Gardner of Kingston, NY, grandchildren Willow, Megan and Selah Husby, Lindsey Kiley, Cade, Johnathan, Alexandra and Morgan Steinback. She is also survived by her sister, Beryl Tolfsen of Kingston, NY, cherished nieces and nephews, and dear cousins.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Arne, her siblings, Elsie Blake, Edna Anstey, and Robert Anstey.
