Agnes M. "Peg" Scism

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday March 9th from 4-6 PM. A funeral service will begin at 6 PM.

Agnes (Peg) M. Scism, 79 , of Kingston passed away at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was born August 19, 1946, in Kingston a daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Wood) McCarthy.

Peg as she was known by friends & family, was a Kingston High School graduate and spent most of her life working in the garment district as a seamstress. She then worked in Retail for several years before retiring. Peg enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, and reading.

Agnes is survived by her sons Robert Schoonmaker (Darlene), Eugene Schoonmaker, James Schoonmaker (Kimberly), Brian Scism (Roberta), 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, her siblings, Robert McCarthy and Roberta Wilson, her former husband Robert Schoonmaker (Brenda) and her Russell Terrier Sami.
