Albert Ross "Butch" Sorbello Sr.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.

A procession will form at the funeral home Thursday at 10:00am

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church.

Burial will follow at Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Albert Ross "Butch" Sorbello Sr., 85, of Ulster Park. Butch was called home to be with family and his loving Creator on August 2, 2025  He was born October 26, 1939 in Highland, New York and was the son of the late Sebastian and Angelina (Torrisi) Sorbello.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Dorothy (Staeth) Sorbello, and devoted children, daughter Donna M. Whitney and her husband James, and his son Albert "Bud" Sorbello and his wife Stacey. Butch is also survived by his four granddaughters- Amanda De La Rosa and her husband Arturo, Tiffani Whitney and her fiancé Patrick, and Reagan and Ainsley Sorbello. He was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Daniella and Luciano De La Rosa. Butch is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his siblings Frank, Tony, Salvatore, Rocco Sorbello, Rose Lee and Angelina Buzzanco.

Butch built, owned, operated, and retired from Wood'n Wheel Family Fun Center in Ulster Park, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in October 2024. With Dorothy by his side, they created a staple for family fun in Port Ewen and the surrounding communities.

He also enjoyed working on projects around the house, particularly his lawn mowers, camper, and classic cars.  He took great pride with his landscaping and gardening. He was an avid animal lover, rescuing many cats over the years that joined the family of pets that also included dogs and horses!

During their sixty-four year marriage, Butch and Dottie loved to travel and visited many places both in and outside the U.S.

Butch was a religious man with a big heart.  He was proud of the Shrine to The Blessed Mother that his parents built in 1960 on Route 9W in Port Ewen. He spent countless hours lovingly caring for it as an extension of his faith.
