Albert Vedder , 73, of Kingston passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2026 at Health Alliance Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and generosity that touched countless lives. Born August 23, 1952, he was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Banks) Vedder.
For 30 dedicated years, Albert served as a custodian, taking great pride in his work. He believed that no job was too small when it came to caring for others, and that quiet dedication never went unnoticed. Colleagues and friends remember him as dependable, humble, and always ready with a warm smile or helping hand.
Outside of work, His greatest joy, besides his granddaughter of course, was cooking and feeding others. The kitchen and grill was his happy place, and no one ever left hungry. Whether catering gatherings, preparing holiday meals, or simply cooking for family and friends "just because," He showed love through every dish served. Food was more than a meal — it was a way to bring people together.
He also found peace and happiness by the water, fishing whenever he could. Those quiet moments with a fishing rod in hand were among his favorite ways to relax and reflect.
Albert is survived by his daughter Megan Vedder, his granddaughter Jaelynn Sandoval, and his siblings: Daniel Vedder and his wife Lori, Donald Vedder and his wife Margaret, William Vedder, Thomas Vedder, Patricia Dallies and her husband Ernest, Doreen Emmond and her husband Rich, Kathy Russell and her husband Bobby, Terri Peppard and her husband Dave. Megan's mother and lifelong friend of Albert, Donna Otis as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Robert Vedder, Joseph Vedder and John Lewis.
