Andrea Marie Long

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday January 21st from 1 PM until 2 PM at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church in Kingston.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM.

Andrea Marie Long, 64, of Kingston died Thursday January 11, 2024 at TenBroeck Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lake Katrine. She was born March 31, 1959 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania a daughter of Carl and Barbara Knauer.

Andrea Long was a long time member of Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church in Kingston. Over the years, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Caring Cards Ministry Leader, Food Pantry Manager, Food Team Ministry Member, and most recently, as a Church Trustee.  While Andrea was active in all aspects of church life, she was especially committed to meeting the needs of hungry folks in the community. Whether serving a community breakfast or dinner, planning a church lunch, or strategizing about the church's outdoor free fridge, Andrea was always a leader in finding effective ways to welcome and feed both friends and strangers. She also enjoyed bingo and fishing. She was a fan of Elvis and HGTV shows. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children, Matthew Long and his wife Erin of Pine Bush and Joseph Long of Kingston. Stepchildren  Brian Long, Susan Shaver, Grandchildren Lucas, Olivia and Alanna Shaver. Siblings Carl Knauer, Jr. of Greta, VA, Roxanne Knauer of Boston, MA, David Knauer and his wife Diane of Wichita Falls, TX, William Knauer of Ringold, Georgia, Michael Knauer and his wife Darlene of Liberty Hill, SC, and John Beal and his wife Sandy of Highland, NY.

In addition to her parents, Andrea's husband Patrick Long died previously.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ten Broeck Center for their care and compassion shown towards Andrea.
