On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, family and friends will be received at Riverview Baptist Church for visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Immediately following will be a Homegoing Celebration at 1:00 PM with burial in Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery.

Arlene Brodhead, 85, of Milford Delaware died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Delaware Hospice Center. Born September 7, 1937, in Kingston, NY she was the daughter of the late Alfred Everette and Clara Elizabeth Bassett.

Arlene was a 1955 graduate of Kingston High School and worked formally as a domestic for families in the Kingston area. Yet her greatest joy was being a homemaker and taking care of her husband, children & grandchildren. She married the love of her life, Nathan "Pete" Brodhead on November 26, 1959. Arlene loved to cook, entertain and always kept her kitchen pantry stocked with goodies for her many grandchildren and surprise guests. Arlene enjoyed watching soap operas, her favorite was "All My Children" and she would watch "Wheel of Fortune" every evening at 7:30pm. To those who knew her well, she was affectionately known as Aunt Arlene.

Arlene is survived by her 3 daughters Jeannine Green and Sherry Childs of Kingston, NY and Lori Ann & husband Steve Riddick of Milford, DE. She is also survived by grandchildren: Carissa Green, Sa'Dairea Childs (Daryl), Regina Lacey-Garcia (Alphonso), Dennis Washington II, Shakeira Riddick, Erika Riddick, Rasheeda Riddick and Na'seria Ridley. Arlene also has many great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is pre-deceased by siblings Charles David Bassett, Jeannine Marie Jackson, Elmira "Mon" Brodhead, and Alfred Wesley "Bob" Bassett, a son-in-law Thomas B. Childs and great-granddaughter Niahanna Riddick.
