Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday October 2nd from 5-7 PM.

A memorial service will take place at 7 PM.

Arthur J. Bowen, 84, longtime resident of Hurley, died peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2024, at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston surrounded by family.  He was born on June 2, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, the son of the late Philip Norton Bowen and Edna Louise Bowen. He married Wendy Clarke, his wife of nearly 60 years, in August 1964, and went on to have five children.

Art served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for IBM as a programmer for over thirty years in Kingston and Poughkeepsie. Outside of work, he was active in the Conservative Party, two local investment clubs, was a dedicated member of the Hurley zoning board, and was involved in Junior Achievement.

He is survived by his wife Wendy Bowen; children Michael Bowen of Poughkeepsie; Jayne Hayden and her husband Lance of Chesterfield, New Hampshire; Sian Ryan and her husband Martin of Randolph, New Jersey; Patrick Bowen of San Diego, California; and Philip Bowen and his wife Lisa of El Cajon, California; grandchildren Abigail and Sarah Bowen; Jayne, Niamh, Ciarra and James Ryan; and Wyatt Hayden.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Marcia Olson.
