Brenda Lynn Long

Per Brenda's request, a private celebration will be held to include family and close friends. If you feel strongly about attending, please reach out to one of her children.

Brenda Lynn Long of Saugerties passed away on July 12th, 2024 with 69 years of wisdom.

She was a loving mother, a neighborhood legend, and an irreplaceable friend who had a will and found a way through all of the hurdles life had for her. As a fun spirit who took on many passions, she was an incredible abstract artist who worked with multiple mediums, a children's book writer, and an explorative photographer. She found comfort and joy in creating vibrant art and seeking out peaceful landscapes where her imagination and perspective allowed her to see the beauty and joy in the natural world. She was selfless, and a grandma to all, with a home that often boomed with the sound of laughing children. While she was unable to see the light she brought to others and the beauty within herself, Brenda touched countless lives with her enormous heart, quirky sense of humor, positive world view, and contagious laugh. As an empty nester she enjoyed the company of Daisy Dukes, her beloved Chihuahua and entertaining company.

Brenda Lynn Long was born on June 21st 1955 to Evelyn Scism and Robert Otis in Kingston, NY.

She was predeceased by Charles L long (Husband), Darline Dee Salmi (sister) and husband Gary Salmi, Robert (father), and Evelyn (mother).

She is survived by her daughters; Belinda Long, Charlene Long, Melissa Long, Elizabeth Dumont, Serenna Otis, Nesa Rodriguez, her sons; Timothy Dumont Jr, and Miguel Rodriguez, her grandchildren; Krystal Long, Jazmyn Oakley, Damian Watzka, Jocelyn Torelli, Jacob (V) Torelli, Brandon Watzka, Charles (Charlie) Scully, Jaidyn Oakley, Reneesme Otis, Layla Traore, Jeremy Halter,  Madelyn Rodriguez, Austin Otis, Gracelyn (GG) Rodriguez, great grandchild; Nicolas (Nico) Ravesi, and siblings; Marina Otis, Angel Otis, Star Cooper, Gary Otis and wife Sharon, Bobby Otis Jr. and wife Tanya Otis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
