Carol Bower

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate the life of Carol Bower on February 24, 2023, 6:30 pm at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston, NY. Family Members will be receiving friends from 6 – 6:30 pm at the funeral home.

Carol Bower (Netherwood), 67, of Kingston, NY, died February 20, 2023, at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie after a short illness.

She was born December 11, 1955 in Kingston, daughter of Joseph William Netherwood, Jr. and Charlotte Maria Morano. Carol worked in direct care at the Arc of Mid Hudson for many years. In addition, Carol was one of the three founders of Parents Helping Parents through Ulster County's Cooperative Extension Service. While Carol loved her clients, the real love of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She also always had a dog or crazy cat, including her current cat Bonkers, who was properly named. She was a strength to her many lifelong friends and her home was always open to anyone and everyone.

Carol is survived by her two sons, Patrick Francis Bower (Amanda Lee Banks) and Kenneth Thomas Bower (Erica Bouton) eleven grandchildren Amanda Lynn Bower (Joseph Mark Clark), Zachary William Bower, Mariah Rose Bower, Madison Leigh Banks, Gianna Bower, Gabriella Bower, Giovanni Giuseppe Bower, Grayson Andrew Bower, Catalina Eleanor Bower, Olivia Rose Bower, Tyler Eric Hayes, and two great grandchildren Eli Matthew Clark and Kayden Jacob Clark. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Terry Moore (Arthur, deceased), Raleigh, NC, her brother Vincent Joseph Netherwood (Adrienne Huheey), Cincinnati, OH, and a number of nieces and nephews.
