Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday March 13th from 3-7 PM.

A funeral procession will form on Thursday 9 AM at the funeral  home.

The Saint Mary's Benevolent Society will honor Charles at 6 PM followed by the American Legion Post 150 at 6:45 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM St. Colman Church in East Kingston.

Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Charles A. Boughton, 90, of Kingston died suddenly Saturday March 9, 2024. He was born August 9, 1933 in East Kingston a son of the late Kenneth and Mary Boughton.

Charles served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War was most recently honored by the New York State Senate for his service. Charlie was thrilled to be a passenger on Honor Flight of the Hudson Valley. He was recently recognized as a forty year member of the East Kingston Fire Co., and he was also an exempt fireman with AH Wicks Engine and Truck Co. He was a member of the American Legion Post 150, the VFW 1386 Honor Guard, and the St. Mary's Benevolent Society. He worked locally as an mechanic and service manager for Schaller's Automotive for twenty-five years and later Johnson Ford as a service manager for over twenty-five years. He enjoyed bowling and camping but most of all raising his family.

Surviving are his children Charles J. Boughton and his wife Jo-Ann of Kingston, Kenneth Boughton and his wife Lorraine of Highland, Roger Boughton and his wife Michele of Ulster Park, Sue Frasch and her husband Joseph of Lake Katrine, Linda Boughton of Kingston and Bobby Norris and his wife Tashira of Kingston. Seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, siblings Kenneth Boughton, Mary Ann Hill, step siblings Frank, Brian, Ron and Michael Rittie and Joy Peterson as well as many nieces and nephews also survive.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of fifty three years Sheffelda "Sue" Boughton, a daughter Brenda Lee Boughton, grandson Travis R. Boughton, siblings Robert P. Boughton, Sr., Linda Boughton and Theresa Simon.

The family would like to give special thanks to Peggy Dayton and Jeanne Edwards for their special care and also to the staff of Golden Hill for his past rehab stays.
