Charles H. Wells

Charles Henry Wells, 86 of Ulster Park, passed away on September 28, 2026 in Kingston, NY.

He was born Born April 29, 1940 in Ellenville NY, a son of the late Henry John Wells and Olive Christine (Purcell) Wells. He served in the US Army from 1959-1965. He was a retired carpenter from Mohonk Mountain House. Charlie loved bird hunting with his dog “Bear”, coin collecting, watching his grandson play sports, and woodworking.

He is survived by: Sons Christopher and Noah Wells, Grandkids: Meghan and Chad Wells, Great- Granddaughters: Laina and Calia Mayr, Long time companion: Anna Forster, Foster Brother: Alex Chilcott, and brother: Julius Harry Wells.

He is preceded in death by: His mother Olive, father Henry, former wife and the mother of his children: Joan Leslie (McMahon) Garcia, half sibling: Donald John Beebe Jr., sisters: Mildred Grace "Midge" Wells and Louise (Wells) Steinhilber.

Per his request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held on a later date.

Memorial contributions: In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Anybody who knew Charlie "Chuck" knew his love for hunting, the outdoors, the diner, and Oreo cookies. Though he is gone, his stories and laughter remain with us always.
