Charlotte Anne White (Gromoll) passed away June 25th, 2026 in her home at the age of 101 years. Charlotte was born in NYC to parents Philip and Elizabeth (Pomeroy) Gromoll. The eldest daughter of 6 children, she helped to raise her younger siblings. Charlotte met her future husband, George White Jr., at 14 years old. While George was serving overseas in WW2, Charlotte worked at De Laval Separator Company in Poughkeepsie to support the country's war effort and she would often volunteer her free time to help local farmers with their harvest to keep the country fed. When George returned from the war, they were married on March 11th, 1946. They had 2 sons, Kenneth and Ronald. In 1970, George and Charlotte opened White's Dairy Bar in Eddyville, NY which she ran until 2020, oftentimes working for 14 hours a day. Charlotte loved collecting dolls, and had a particular love for sewing her own. She will be sorely missed by both friends and family.
Her husband and sons had both previously passed away, however she is survived by sisters Ruth Dahl of Eddyville, NY and Elizabeth Tedrow of Sawkill, NY, granddaughter Jamie Zaleskiwicz of Glen Burnie, MD, grandson William White of St. Remy, NY, great-grandchildren Olivia Everal of Barcelona, Spain, Alexander Daniel and Miranda Daniel of Pasadena, MD.
