Clara S. Scheffel, 86, of Kingston died Sunday February 1, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born October 9, 1939 in Kingston she was the daughter of the late Martin and Clara (Houlihan) Carr.

Clara worked as a Teacher's Aid at Children's Rehabilitation Center for many years.

Clara is survived by her children; Marybeth Mackey and her husband Robert, Karen Longendyke and her husband Greg, Julie McCardle and her husband James, Natalie Constance and her husband Dan, and Ronald Scheffel Jr.  Her grandchildren; Bobby and Kevin Mackey, Rachel, Rebecca and Grace Longendyke, Meghan, Courtney, Jimmy and Ryan McCardle, Daniel, Emily and Derek Constance and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ronald Scheffel Sr. and her siblings; Theresa Wood, Frederick Carr, Patricia Camp, Martin Carr and Bernard Carr.
