Clifford R. "Babe" Whitaker Sr.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

A funeral home service will take place Friday at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow at Montrepose Cemetery.

Clifford R. "Babe" Whitaker Sr., 81 of Eddyville died Saturday July 15, 2023 at HealthAlliance Hospital Mary's Avenue Campus. Born July 4, 1942 in Kingston he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Myers) Whitaker.

Clifford was employed as a Boiler Operator for Dyno Nobel, he was also employed as a school bus driver for Mulligan's Bus Company. Babe enjoyed fishing, hunting and kicking back with his family and RV friends around a campfire. For many years he belonged to the Moose lodge in Port Ewen. Throughout his life he enjoyed keeping up to date and talking weather on the daily. Babe would have been a "trusted" weatherman.

Clifford is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years Dorothy (Carboni) Whitaker, son Clifford R. Whitaker Jr. (Christine Frechette) and daughter Sandra Oyola (Karl Mott). Grandchildren; Clifford Whitaker III, Erika Whitaker (Brian Hanson), Emerald Barnhart (Raymond Williamson) and Antonio Heiser (Dina Scaglione), great-grandchild Finley Scaglione-Heiser, nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Charles Whitaker and Rodney Whittaker.
