On October 16, 2026 Clifford G. Sinsabaugh III, "Gip" 66, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

With his long brown hair, striking blue eyes, and captivating smile, Gip had a presence all his own. A tie-dye shirt, a peace sign, and his steel-toe work boots were as much a part of him as his quick wit, sharp mind, and sarcastic sense of humor. He was a true original who never felt the need to fit anyone else’s idea of who he should be.

A lifelong lover of rock and roll, Gip loved live music, sports, and adventure. He was always up for discovering somewhere new or trying something different, whether that meant traveling to California for a concert or attending a Mets game. He also enjoyed golf, and softball, and brought his competitive spirit to the activities he loved.

Intelligent and resourceful, Gip attended SUNY Potsdam before family circumstances led him home. He went on to build a career as an engineer with the New York State Department of Transportation, dedicating much of his adult life to public service. He was a man whose intelligence could easily be underestimated by those who judged him by his appearance, and he was perfectly comfortable being himself.

He leaves behind his partner, Barbara Martino; his daughter, Brittany Sinsabaugh; his stepdaughters, Jill Benson and her husband John, Jo Ann Cotich and her husband Chris and Julie Kogut: his grandchildren, Mateo, DJ, Leo, Robert, Jade, Harper and Kai. He is also survived by his sister in law, Maggie Rodden and nephew Bill Rodden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford G. II and Eleanor Sinsabaugh and brother William "Bill" Rodden. Gip lived life on his own terms.

He will be remembered for his brilliant mind, his unmistakable smile, his love of music and adventure, and the individuality that made him who he was.

May he be at peace, free from pain, with good music playing and a lifetime of adventures behind him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
