Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. 

A funeral procession will form Saturday at 9:00 AM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM at Cross Point Fellowship 459 Hurley Avenue Kingston.

Darlene will be laid to rest at Wiltwyck Cemetery in Kingston.

Darlene Bover, 86, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, registered nurse, and longtime resident of Ulster County, passed away on September 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 13, 1940, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Thomas and Helen Tolomeo, Darlene spent much of her life caring for others. As a registered nurse, she served at Benedictine Hospital, Valley Hospital, Allendale Nursing Home, and Golden Hill.

Darlene was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Bover, Sr., and her son, Thomas J. Bover, Jr. She is survived by her son, Glen; her grandsons, Jason and Mathew; her great-grandchildren, Zander and Lillianna; her sister-in-law, Judith Burington; her niece, Laura Cole, and her beautiful children, Owen, Emma and Connor Ziluck, her nephew, Scott Slingerland; and her longtime companion, Robert “Bob” Mance.

Darlene loved being part of the communities around her and rarely watched life from the sidelines. She proudly supported the Kingston Hospital Auxiliary, Rotary Club, and the Ulster County Italian American Club. If there were funds to be raised for a good cause — or simply a good time to be had — Darlene was generally right in the middle of it.

She especially treasured the friendships and memories she made through her bridge & book clubs, Welcome Wagon, and being a tenured member of Zena Rec Park and a proud member of the nursing community.

Having made her home over the years in Hurley, Kingston, and Woodstock, Darlene built friendships throughout Ulster County. Above all, she enjoyed people. She valued her family, her friendships, and the opportunity to participate in the things happening around her. Darlene will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and the people throughout Ulster County who became part of the life she built.
