David D. Edwards Sr., age 61, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday May 3, 2023. Born on November 8, 1961, in Manhattan New York, NY, he was the youngest son of, and predeceased by, Elizabeth and Joseph Edwards. David was survived by his wife, Dorrett Edwards. As well as by his 8 children, Ariel, Tiobhan, Adam, David, Anthony, Darius, Victoria, and Caleb, and his 10 grandchildren Sadya, Allahuel, Aaliyah, Gavin, Mason, Noah, Naomi, Madison, August, and Sapphire.

Starting as a teenager, David had a passion for being a police officer and photography.  He was always seen walking around with his camera around his neck. David also accomplished a laundry list of amazing things in the photography world. He even owned his own photography studio on Broadway in Kingston, NY. He had Dave's Photo World (DPW), DNS Studios, took pictures for customers of the Rip Van Winkle, as well as managed at Ritz Camera in Plattsburgh, NY. He made a myriad of significant contributions to his community, as  a deacon for many years and he even drove around the streets of Kingston and captured the beauty of present moments for all he ran into through photography.

He was known for his kindness, generosity, and wit. If you ever asked him what he was doing, he'd simply reply, "Same thing I do everyday, *sigh* trying to take over the world". David was always independent when it came to business, he had a strong entrepreneurial mindset. His ambition and strong faith led him to miracles. He was unapologetically himself in all settings, had a beautiful sense of humor, was a huge foody. And his passion for capturing moments was key to his mission in instilling a strong faith in his legacy, and through the message of the mustard seed.

David D. Edwards Sr. will be deeply missed and remembered for his impact and legacy. He touched the lives of many people through his photography and his strong faith. Surviving family members and close friends will cherish the memories they shared with him.
