David J. Harris

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday July 8, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM.

A funeral service will begin at 7 PM.

Cremation will be held privately.

David J. Harris, 84, of Port Ewen died Friday June 28, 2024 at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston.  Born August 29, 1939 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Moe Harris and Anna Harris Cooke.

A line cook, David worked at The Homowack Lodge in Wurtsboro and held many other jobs in the area.  He was a huge Yankee Fan and  enjoyed watching Tom and Jerry cartoons.

Surviving is his wife, Judy (Green) Harris;  his children, John D. Harris, Bonny R. Harris and Lisa M. Harris (Dan Palmucci);  his brother Charles Zellner. His grandchildren, Tara Chadwick, Sean Sickler (Savannah) , George Sickler III and his wife Becca, Chelsea Harris, Alex Freese and Andrew Sickler  (Courtney) Five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.  A sister Patricia Jenzeski also died previously.
