Denise Wilson

Denise Wilson, 61 , of Erie, Pennsylvania, and most recently residing in Kingston, New York, passed away on February 10, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1964.

Denise was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. Life presented her with many challenges, yet she faced them with courage, determination, and an unwavering spirit. She was known for her humor — the kind that could light up a room and lift the hearts of those around her. Her laughter was comforting, her personality unforgettable, and her love for her family undeniable.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren. Denise is survived by her loving children, Michael Banks and Jennifer Butts, and her daughter-in-law, April Temple. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Izak Velez, Danielle Genaro, Zayden Temple, and Myla Banks. Each of them held a special place in her heart.

Denise was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevon Wilson, and her daughter, Shaunta Wilson — losses she carried with deep love and strength.

She is survived by her mother, Ann; her brothers, Anthony Verdoni, Joe Ellis, and Bobby Lee; and her sisters, Mary Lee and Betty Lee. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth, humor, and fierce loyalty to family.

A funeral service to celebrate Denise's life will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Denise's life are invited to attend and honor her memory.
