A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Hurley Cemetery.

Dennis L. Pitcock, 83, of Kingston died Sunday February 5, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. Born June 7, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio he was the son of the late Karl Pitcock and Jeneanne (Ingols) Biche. In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Karen.

Dennis's family moved to Kingston in 1957 and he graduated from Kingston High School that same year. He graduated from Albany Business College in 1961. Dennis started his career at Burroughs Corp in Kingston, NY as a marketing rep. From 1961-1965, he was awarded the company's Legion of Honor award for surpassing his sales goals. In 1966, Dennis joined The Kingston Hospital as the Comptroller. His career at Kingston Hospital spanned 33 years. He was the Senior Vice President of Finance in 1996 when he retired.

Following his retirement, Dennis began a consulting business. His clients included Orange Regional Medical Center, Ellenville Regional Hospital, Peak Trading Corp. Dennis was a member of many local boards. He was former Chairman of the Board for HANY's Worker's Compensation Trust, a 30 year board member of the Ulster County Credit Union, a member of the Board of Directors for Ten Brock Commons Nursing Home, as well as, a member of the board of directors for Ulster/Green ARC. Dennis was the former Ulster County Campaign Chairman for the American Cancer foundation.

Dennis had a magnetic personality. He had a unique ability to cross many different social barriers and make a strong and lasting connections with almost everyone he came in contact with. He had deep and meaningful relationships with many life long friends. Dennis was blessed again to find love later in his life after the death of Karen with his long time companion Mitzi who passed in July of 2020.

He loved sports of all kinds but Golf became his most active sport. He was a member of Twaalfskill Country Club for 25 years and Wiltwyck County Club for 20 years.

Dennis is survived by his children; Susan Kervin of Los Angeles, CA, Debra Pitcock of Nantucket, MA and Kevin Pitcock and his wife DeeDee of Stone Ridge, NY. His grandchildren Viktor Kervin, Sophia Pitcock, Tess Pitcock and Aaliyah Lewis. Dennis is also survived by his brother Larry Pitcock of Townsend, MD and his sister Judy Brown of Mechanicsburg, PA.
