Dolores Maisch

Dolores Maisch (Costello) has ended her full life on January 14, 2024, at 93 years of age. She leaves behind her eight children Patti Ann Voerg, Glen, Lori Marino, Wayne, Kirk, Martha (Marty) Nagele, Greg, and Meg, their spouses, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way), after what seemed a "blink" moment on earth. She was predeceased by her parents Winnie and Coke Costello, husband, Paul, and her sister, Alice (Dolly) Scherer and a granddaughter, Nicole Nagele.

Dolores started life working her parent's turkey farm, and later, Costello's Motor Court. She was a Girl Scout leader and president of the Mother's Club at St. Peter's in Kingston. She worked tirelessly, for decades, as the president of the Kingston High School Booster Club making it a support system for ALL student athletes. She was a mainstay at the Lake Katrine Grammar School and Miller Junior High, where they dedicated their 1977 yearbook to her in recognition of her support. To this day teachers still often ask, "Which Maisch are you"?

Dolores' no-nonsense and "doing the right thing" attitude stretched far beyond the nest. Her brood came first but she lives in the memories of the those who, still call her "Mom Maisch" to this day. Dolores never missed a wrestling match or football game. Introducing historic sites to her eight children was important to her. Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Boston were just a few trips she made sure happened, even if it meant taking the kids out of school to do it. She and Paul drove the whole family to Disney World the year it opened. She revisited many times, and even celebrated the 50th anniversary there at age 91. She was adventurous, often exceeding the limits of any other in her age category—an inspiration to all who've known her. Trips in the RV too many to count, from Niagara Falls to the Grand Canyon and Herkimer Diamond Mines to Yellowstone. She loved this country and couldn't see enough of it. Dolores enjoyed a good slot machine and she'd sniff one out no matter where the trip took her. And wherever she went, on her lap, licking her face, so went her beloved companion "Rocky girl."

Even to the very end Dolores continued to review all these things and so much more. Lots of stories after 93 years.
