Donald "Batman" Fowler, Sr.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 12-2 PM. Burial with military honors will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.

Donald "Batman" Fowler Sr. , a proud veteran and longtime machinist, passed away in his home from a heart attack and complications of liver cirrhosis. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent most of his childhood.

He was the son of Dorothy Jean Walker and Earle Lewis Fowler, who also served as a veteran. Donald endured the heartbreaking loss of many siblings over the years, including several sisters whose lives were tragically cut short by violence, drug use, and alcoholism in the Greenpoint area of Brooklyn.

Donald is survived by his children, Christina Fowler and Donald Fowler Jr., and his grandchildren, Arianna Burns, Mckenna Jackson, Xavier Fowler, and Ashden Fowler. He is also survived by their mother and his former wife, Donna Sickler, as well as his brothers and sisters, Joseph Fowler (Lucy Veneski), Kenny Fowler and his wife Ann, as well as two cousins Lynda and Pamela Fowler. He was predeceased by siblings, including his twin sister, Dorothy.

After serving his country in the United States military, Donald built a dedicated career with Huck International in Kingston, New York, where he worked as a machinist. Known for his reliability, skill, and strong work ethic, he was respected by colleagues and friends alike.

Affectionately known as "Batman," Donald was outgoing, charismatic, and often the life of the party. A passionate New York Giants and Yankees fan, he never missed the chance to cheer on his team.

Donald's life included both joyful moments and personal struggles. His battle with alcoholism affected his ability to be consistently present for his children, despite his hopes and efforts. Yet through it all, he loved his family deeply and carried a desire for connection, forgiveness, and understanding.

He will be remembered with honesty, love, and compassion by all who knew him.
