Donald Sanders

A Homegoing Service will be held on Monday, April 8th, 12 Noon, at the New Central Baptist Church, 229 East Strand Street, Kingston, New York.

Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery, Kingston.

Donald Sanders of Second Avenue Troy, died of pancreatic cancer at Troy Center Troy, New York on Monday April 1, 2024, at 63 years of age. Born on September 14, 1960 at Bethel (Brookdale)Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the Rev. Charles E. Sanders and the late Robbi Loreen (West) Sanders.

After graduating Brooklyn Technical High School in 1978 as an electrical engineering major, Donald attended the University of Miami (Fla.), University of Bridgeport (Ct.), and completed his education at SUNY at New Paltz. Donald was employed as a Senior Clerk at the New York State Department of Correctional Services and thereafter as a driver for various transportation services. Pursuing his musical passion, he was an accomplished guitarist and member of the rock band, Aggravated Assault.

In addition to his Father, Donald is survived by his Brother Charles F. Sanders and his wife Barbara, one niece and two nephews, Nia, Jamil, and Kunle Sanders, two aunts, Addie Mae (West) Stewart and Eva (Jones) Stevens, three uncles, John Preston West, Willie Joe West, and James O. Jones, Jr. (and his wife Winifred Jones), and many loving, gracious, and enjoyable cousins and other Family members and friends.
