Dorothy Whitaker, 84,
of Eddyville died Friday March 14, at home surrounded by family. Born February 3, 1941 in Kingston, New York she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Violet (Benson) Carboni.
Dorothy was Assembly Supervisor for her shift at Hercules Powder Company. She was known to be tough and understanding as the situation called for. She loved that her entire working career was spent at the same times and place as her beloved Babe. When retired they enjoyed as much time away camping with friends and family. Dorothy was creative and would make lamp shades from safety pins and beads to hang from their camper. Crocheting and making and painting ceramics was pleasurable for her. In later years she looked forward to gatherings, chatting with friends, and especially sitting on the front porch with her Babe and hummingbirds. Family and her kitty Jolene was ever present and close with her. Spending much time with Finn brought so much joy and laughs. She adored everything he did and took pictures to share and boast and brag. She especially loved children and chose St. Jude as her charity of choice.
Dorothy is survived by her son Clifford Whitaker Jr. (Christine Frechette), daughter Sandra Oyola (Karl Mott). Grandchildren; Clifford Whitaker III., Erika Whitaker (Brian Hanson), Emerald Barnhart (Raymond Williamson), Antonio Heiser (Erika Chaves), Great Grandchild Finley Scanglione-Heiser. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Clifford "Babe" Whitaker Sr.
