Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday July 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

A funeral procession will form Saturday 9:30 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church at 10:30 AM.

Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Edward J. Ortlieb of Kingston, died Monday July 3, 2023 at Tenbroeck Commons, Lake Katrine, New York surrounded by his children.

Retired Deputy Police Chief for The City of Kingston.  Born August 4,1936 he was the son of the late Christian and Margaret (Dittus) Ortlieb.

A graduate of Kingston High School class of 1954. Ed served in Germany in The United States Army 1959 -1961. He worked for the Kingston Police Department from October 1, 1958 until his retirement  in May 30, 1992. A member of Kingston Police Gold Shield Society and Policeman's Benevolent Society. His family meant everything to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and most recently great-grandfather.

His wife Kathleen (Mehm) Ortlieb  died April 2, 1999.  He is survived by his children;  Debra Bickert and her husband Theodore,Teresa Murphy and her husband David "Murph", Edward Ortlieb and his wife Cindy, and Daniel Ortlieb and his wife Denyse. Grandchildren; Teddy Bickert and his wife Samantha, Alison Bickert, Nicole Murphy, Megan Murphy, Alex Ortlieb, Brendan Ortlieb and Ryan Ortlieb. Great-grandson Brooks Bickert.  His brothers; Frank, Christian, John "Jack", and Robert Ortlieb also predeceased him.
