Elizabeth "Betty" A. Engel

A private graveside service will take place at a later date for all family members.

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Engel of Depew Lane died peacefully on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Most recently a long-time resident of Golden Hill Nursing Home in Kingston.

Born in Kingston, September 4, 1936 she is the daughter of the late John and Irene Lawrence. Predeceased was Betty's husband of 69 years Chuck who passed away September 20, 2021. Surviving are Betty's three sons. Timothy Engel and his wife Lisa, David Engel and his wife Ann Marie and John Engel and his wife Claudia. Also, grandchildren Brandon, Alexa, Mackenzie, William and Tara. Betty was also predeceased by her sister Kathy Lawrence.

Raising three boys was no easy task so for relief Betty would temporarily enter the workplace from time to time. She took part time jobs over the years at Montgomery Ward, Lukas Pharmacy and for Thomas Reinhardt CPA to name a few. Her proudest accomplishment was when she purchased the TV rental company (TRS) at the Benedictine Hospital. After running her company for a number of years she sold it to a national TV rental company after which she retired (again).
