Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM.

A funeral home service will begin at 11:30 AM.

Burial will follow in Ashokan Rural Cemetery.

Evelyn Zanos, 84, of the Town of Ulster died Thursday June 22, 2023 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 14, 1939 in Shokan she was the daughter of the late Lester and Helen (Jones) Alexander.

Evelyn worked in childcare and was a bus and hall monitor at Chambers Elementary School. She had a very unique personality, was very funny and a terror at the same time.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter Debra Shultis and son Paul Shultis Jr. Siblings; Dean Alexander, Lester Alexander, Terrance Alexander, Donna VanKleeck, Josie Churchwell and Cindy Alexander. Grandchildren; Dr. Tatum Weishaupt-Leris, Matthew Weishaupt IV., and Brooke Shultis, great-granddaughter Ruzzo Elizabeth Maisenhelder-Leris.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husbands Paul Shultis Sr. and George Zanos, siblings; Frank Alexander, Kay Heppner, Thomas Alexander, William Alexander.
