Everett Lorenzo Walker

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pointe of Praise, 243 Hurley Avenue, Kingston, NY, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, followed by Everett's Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.

Burial immediately following at the Modena Rural Cemetery, 2165 NY-32.

Everett Lorenzo  Walker, 94, of Hurley, NY,  departed his earthly home on Friday, December 1, 2023.  He was born on October 31, 1929, in Georgetown, Florida, to parents Dolly (Walker) Cook and Elliot Chisholm (both deceased).

Everett was employed at IBM  in Kingston, NY, for twenty-five  years as a custodian. After retiring, he worked part time at Caldors as a stock clerk.

Everett loved people and was well respected in the community. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, playing his harmonica and spending time with his family and friends.

Everett was a devoted, kind and loving Christian and an awesome prayer warrior, as well as a deacon at the Pointe of Praise. He was an animated storyteller of his years of adventures filled with joy, laughter, and wisdom.

Everett was preceded in death by loving wife Laura (Johnston) Walker, both his  mother and father, sisters: Ethel (Chisholm) Davis, Mabel (Gary) Marsh, Evella (Gary) Harrell, and Novella Gary, brothers: Noble Gary, J.W. Gary, Roy Gary, Verdell Gary and best friend/brother, Howard Walker, first wife and mother of his children, Maybell (Oxendine) Allen and son-in-law, J. Warren Hooper.

Everett will be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of sons: Lorenzo C. Walker (Diane), Loverso V. Walker ( Cassandra), Lovarnso A. Walker, daughters: Loretta V. Hooper, Lothilda V. Walker, goddaughter: Stephanie Thomas( David), grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, loving nieces and nephews, Point of Praise family,  Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C family and many loyal friends.
