Fay Marie King, 90 of Saugerties died Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Born February 15, 1932 in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Ricketson) Mitchell.
Fay was retired from the Benedictine Hospital, where she prepped the operating room. She was an avid fan of Vince Gill, enjoyed doing puzzles and playing bingo, and loved her ice cream. A social butterfly, she was a member of the Rosendale Senior Citizens Club, where she attended meetings, mixers, and day trips with her sister in law Carol King. She and her late husband John loved to travel. They had been to Hawaii, California, and up and down the east coast, but their favorite was Maine, where they visited every year. "Always ready to go," Fay was an early riser who always jumped at the opportunity to go wherever her son John and daughter in law Helene would take her.
Surviving is her son John King Jr. and his wife Helene; her daughter Donna Gage and her husband Mike; grandchildren John King, III (Bon-Heather), Tiffany Dimacali (Jesse), Karlene King (Cory Zaffarese), and Michael Gage (John). Five great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her husband, her brother, Frank Mitchell, sister Theresa Smith and granddaughter Deanna Gage all died previously.
