Floyd G. Petersen

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

A funeral home service will be held at 4:00 PM.

Cremation will be held privately.

Floyd G. Petersen, 96 , of Kingston died Monday September 11, 2023 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center. Born August 22, 1927 in Atlantic, Iowa he was the son of the late Levi and Annie (Nelson) Petersen.

Floyd graduated from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. He was an engineer for IBM for over thirty-four years. A member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, a very active member of Overlook Methodist Church in Woodstock where he was a member of the choir and Trustee, he was instrumental in the design of the stained glass windows at the church. He also enjoyed painting in watercolors.

Floyd is survived by his wife Marilyn J. (Robertson) Petersen, his daughters; Colette Tighe and Dawn Overton and her husband Robert. Grandson Blake Overton also survives.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Calvin and Emory Petersen.
