Gabriel Gyenes, Jr., 93, of Lake Katrine died Tuesday April 21, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 14, 1933, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Catherine (Ochman) Gyenes.

Gabriel proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. William C. Lawe. Gabriel's career began with the Jersey Central Railroad, where he was employed as a laborer, and later retired as a Track Supervisor for Conrail. He enjoyed spending time with his family, relaxing at his cabin in the Catskills, golfing, and attending the Tuesday Social Club run by the Ulster County Office for the Aging in Kingston.

Gabriel is survived by his children; Elaine Picerno, Michael Gyenes (Catherine), Suzanne Gyenes (Andreas) and Melanie Gyenes (Kevin). Grandchildren; Leah Hertzog (Brent), Matthew Weckstein (Jennifer), Joshua Brink (Megan), Michael Gyenes (Kristy), Christopher Gyenes, and Daniel Norman (Valerie). Great Grandchildren; Silas, Addison, Mason, Grady, Araya, and Jackson. Brother John Gyenes.

In addition to his parents, Gabriel was predeceased by his wives Elaine Gyenes and Marie Gyenes, sons-in-law Alan and Angelo, and sister Catherine.
