Genoveva Cruz-Albano
, 59, of Kingston died January 27 2026, at HealthAlliance Hospital. Born September 24, 1966, in Kingston, she was the daughter of Theresa Whittaker and the late Santiago Cruz.
Genoveva was a licensed hairdresser and was also employed as home health care aide. Most recently caring for her elderly mother. Her hobbies included traveling, cooking, baking, various arts and crafts, staying up to date with civil rights, politics and justice. She was a devoted, caring individual who even at the very end was an organ donor. Others will live on because of her sacrifice.
Surviving is her husband of 35 years, Michael Albano; her children, Persephone Grimm, formally known as Alisha Bell and Samantha Albano; her sisters Theresa "Sandy" Cruz-Shultis, Anna Maria "Elsie" Cruz- Aranda, Jen Cruz Harvey, her "sister-cousin" Kelly Whittaker, brothers, Santiago "Chuckie" Cruz and Todd Cruz, and her K-9 companion, Rocky. She is also survived by nieces, Julie Ronda, Erica Kennedy, Nicole Ann Smith, Shianne Rose Quick, nephews: Joseph Shultis, James Quick as well as several great nieces and nephews.
