Geoffrey Vanetten

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday at the Douglas Cordo Post 758 American Legion, Lake Katrine from 12:00 to 3:00 PM.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Geoffrey "Weezer" VanEtten, 64, of Ulster Park,NY, who died Sunday September 22, 2024 at Westchester Medical Center. Born August 11, 1960 in Kingston NY he was the son of the late Robert and Patricia (Harris) VanEtten.

A master carpenter by trade, Geoff had an incredible gift for crafting beautiful things with his hands. it was his lifelong passion for music that truly defined him. Whether playing in bands such as "Jokers Wild" and "Northern Fury" at local venues or captivating crowds throughout the Hudson Valley, his melodies brought people together and created memories that will resonate for generations. His love for music was a language of connection, a way he expressed himself and touched countless lives.

Geoff was a friend to all, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. His kindness knew no bounds. we find comfort in knowing that Geoff will live on through his music and the lives he touched. He leaves a legacy of love, creativity, and friendship that will continue to inspire us.

As we celebrate his life, he will be forever missed but his spirit will live on.Rest in peace, dear Geoff. You are loved beyond measure.

Geoffrey is survived by his children Heather VanEtten, Andrew VanEtten, Meranda VanEtten and Dustin VanEtten,  sister Jane Harris and her husband Simon Harris, estranged wife Sherri VanEtten and life partner Kathleen Hoppe and several grandchildren.
