Georgiana M. "Georgy" Pangburn

Friends will be received for a memorial visitation at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, 27, Smith Ave., Kingston on Saturday, January 13th from 1-2 PM. At 2:00 pm a celebration of life will be conducted.

Georgiana M. "Georgy" Pangburn, 84, of Washington Ave., Kingston passed away on December 29, 2023.

She was born in Catskill, a daughter of the late Harry and Marie Cornelius Huested. Formerly of Catskill, she married Kenneth (Ken) Pangburn on September 24, 1983. Ken and Georgy enjoyed over 40 years of a loving marriage.

For many years Georgy was Assistant to the President at Colonial Indemnity Insurance Co., Kingston and worked in the Claims Department.

While living in Catskill, Georgy served on the Catskill Board of Elections and was a member of the Greene County Democratic Party. In Kingston, she served as Past President of the Kingston Rotary Club, was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship, and as a Polio survivor made District Presentations about Polio. Georgy volunteered at Mental Health Assoc in Ulster County, the Ulster Literacy Assoc., and The People's Place.

Loving wife of Kenneth Pangburn, mother of Dawn Helmedach (Paul) of Cross Junction, VA and Terry Spiesman (Randy) of Hurley; step-mother of Kimberly Mahoney (Daniel) of Montgomery Village, MD, Julie Eigo (Thomas) of Bolton Landing, and Lisa McInerney (Thomas) of Kingston; her granddaughter Maya, 14 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, her dear uncle whom she loved as a brother, Leo Cornelius, of PA, aunt to several nieces and nephews, and her canine companions Zoe and Mocha and the late Teal and Jade.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Robert J. Gaus
