Inurnment with military honors will take place Saturday October 7th 11 AM in Rosendale Plains Cemetery.

Gerald John Besze, 87, died Tuesday September 26, 2023 at HealthAlliance Hospital:Mary's Avenue Campus in Kingston. Born May 30, 1936 in Manhattan, he is the son of the late John and Marie Besze.

Jerry served our country in the United States Navy, after his honorable discharge, he enlisted in the New York State National Guard, being discharged in 1998 as a Sergeant First Class with the 156th Field Artillery Battalion. Jerry worked for IBM in Kingston as a senior associate, and then owned and operated his own plumbing and heating contractor service in the area. He was a member of the VFW Post 1386, the 156th Field Artillery Veterans Association, and was a former member of the The Twaalfskill Club and the Saugerties RC Flyers Club.

Surviving are his children Cynthia Ernst of St. Remy, Gary Foster and his wife Jeanine of Ulster Park, grandchildren Barbara Dyer, Kyle Foster, Lisa Besze, David and Chris Royce. A brother Vincent Besze and his wife Nellie of Staatsburg, a sister Suzanne Harris and her husband Fred of St. Remy, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

He is predeceased by his wife Barbara Besze, sons Augustus Q. Besze, David and Gerry Foster, a daughter Deborah Ferguson and grandson Jeremy Besze.
