Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 17th from 4-7 PM.
A funeral procession will form Thursday, May 18th at 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Church.
Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
Gerard H. Nocton, Jr., 71,
former Deputy Chief of the Kingston Fire Department passed away Thursday May 11, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born June 2, 1951 in Trenton, New Jersey he was the son of the late Gerard H. Nocton Sr. and Eleanor (McCue) Nocton.
He grew up in Levittown, PA, moving to Kingston, NY in February 1968. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1969. For nearly forty years, he proudly served the City of Kingston as a firefighter working his way up to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief for Platoon 1. He retired on July 1, 2013. He enjoyed biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and traveling with his family. He loved visiting the Catskills, Lake George, Aruba and Disney World. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren was his ultimate joy.
Surviving is his loving wife of forty one years, Joanne (Pidala) Nocton; his daughter, Meredith Amato and her husband Matthew of Poughquag, his son Patrick Nocton; his grandchildren, Eleanor and Josephine Amato; his siblings, Katherine Sheehan and her husband Dennis, Michael Nocton and his wife Laureen, Louise Gumaer and her husband Thomas; Anthony Nocton, MaryFrances Garland and her husband William. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
