Guenter Adolf Badura

Per Guenter’s wishes, no formal services will be held.

Guenter Adolf Badura, born June 15, 1936, in Berlin, Germany, passed away peacefully after several years of health challenges. Guenter’s life was defined by craftsmanship and devotion—to his trade and, most importantly, to his family.

Growing up in Bavaria, Guenter discovered a lifelong passion for baking. He later honed his skills through a classical apprenticeship in Vienna, Austria, becoming a master pastry chef. In the 1950s, Guenter emigrated to the United States with his then-fiancée, Barbara, to build a new life. His professional legacy remains a cornerstone of the community; he was the pastry chef at Deising’s Bakery and dedicated his talents there until his retirement in 2014. Many of his recipes can still be enjoyed today.

Beyond the bakery, Guenter was a man of many passions. In his younger years, he could be found pheasant hunting, line dancing in the Catskills, or finding peace while sailing his sail boat on Lake George.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara Badura; his daughter, Cornelia (Robert) Pomeroy; his grandchildren, Krista (Keith), Erica, Julia (Adam), Alysha (Cory), Adam, and Jayda; and nine great-grandchildren: Elijha, Judah, Rain, Lainey, Avani, Heidi, Ophelia, Cory Jr. and Noah. As well as his brothers Andreas, Christian, Peter and many nephews/nieces still overseas. He is predeaced by his father(Adolf), mother(Elsie) and his brother, Horst Badura.
