Harry A. "Bud" Lowe Jr.

The Lowe family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday March 9th from 4 to 7 PM.

A funeral procession will form Friday 9 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church in Kingston.

Final prayers and commendation will be held following mass at the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.

Harry A. "Bud" Lowe Jr. 80, former Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Kingston died Sunday March 5, 2023 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, New York.  Born July 20, 1942 in Kingston he was the son of the late Harry A. Sr. and Catherine (Malia) Lowe.

A veteran of the United States Army, Bud served from 1960 to 1963, spending the majority of that time in Germany.  He began his career with the City of Kingston Fire Department on June 17, 1972.  Bud was promoted to Lieutenant in December of 1987, then Captain and Shift Commander in September of 1992 and finally Deputy Chief in July of 1994.  Bud was instrumental in initiating the Fire Department's Hazardous Materials response team in 1993 which he led. After thirty years of service, Bud retired as Deputy Chief on July 12, 2002.   He owned his own pool business in Kingston for over 40 years. Bud was a former professional / recreational bowler as well as an avid golfer. Bud was well known for his fierce competitiveness and strong desire to perform at his best. Bud was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, friend, grandfather, great-grandfather, and member of our community. His presence and contributions will be forever missed.

Surviving is his wife Snookie Lowe of Kingston; his children, John D. Lowe Sr., Christine Heavey and her husband John; his grandchildren, John D. Lowe Jr. and his wife Jordan and Thomas Heavey; his great-grandchildren Jayson and Jade Lowe; his brothers, David F. Lowe and Todd E. Lowe.

Bud was predeceased by his son Daniel Lowe.
