Helene M. King , 65, of Seyler Terrace, Saugerties died at her home with her family by her side Sunday, November 10, 2024. Born March 24, 1959 in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor (Sisco) Spohrer.

Helene began her career at IBM before working for the Ulster County Treasurer's and Auditing Departments, and finally she was the Treasurer for the Village of Saugerties until she retired in 2019. Many of her closest and dearest friendships were formed at her places of work. She was a member of the Columbiettes, and enjoyed going to "stamp camp" on Friday nights where she loved to joke and laugh while crafting greeting cards with friends.

She had an infectious smile and a way about her that just drew you in. She had a heart of gold, and would do anything for you. If she couldn't, she would find someone who could. She cherished her getaways with her husband: anniversary trips to Ogunquit, Maine, spur of the moment overnights in Lake George, and cozy stays at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where she would visit the Norman Rockwell museum and purchase a print to add to her beloved collection. She loved Barnes and Noble, Jersey Mike's, and Dunkin. She read James Patterson, loved crafting in her craft room or out on the porch with friends, and she absolutely loved theater. She enjoyed going to the Woodstock Playhouse, the Center in Rhinebeck, and especially Broadway, but her favorite was always the Radio City Rockettes. She was a lover of life, and she loved her family and friends more than anything in this world.

Helene is survived by her loving husband John B. King Jr., her children John B. King III and his wife Bon, Tiffany A. King (Jesse Dimacali) and Karlene E. King (Cory Zaffarese). Grandchildren; Lorenzo, Gabriel and Cassius King, Stella Dimacali and George Zaffarese. Nieces and nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
