Hugh George Helsley

The Helsley family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday November 12th from 2 to 5 PM.

A funeral service will begin at 5 PM.

Inurnment in the Hurley Cemetery 11:30 am Tuesday.

Hugh George Helsley , also known to many as Hughie passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 9, 2023.  Born February 6, 1935, in Red Hook, New York, he was the only child of George and Alice (Ford) Helsley.

Growing up in Red Hook, as a young man he went to work for Triebal's Garage where he operated a tow truck and learned to become an auto mechanic. Later he was employed by IBM where he met his future wife Judy Lowe of Kingston. After they were married, they purchased a home and became lifelong residents of Hurley. Hugh worked for IBM for over 35 years as a Computer Support Technician. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the camping in the Adirondacks and was one of the founding members of the Morgan Hill Rod and Gun Club.

Hugh was proceeded by his wife, Judy Helsley who passed away in 2009.  He is survived by his two sons, Steven Helsley and his wife Wendy and Glen Helsley all of Hurley;  his grandchildren Daniella, Johnathan and Teagan Helsley.
