James E. Barbosa

A memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday May 1, 2025 from 4pm - 7pm.

A memorial service will take place the next morning at the funeral home at 11:00.

Inurnment will follow at Montrepose Cemetery.

James E. Barbosa, Sr. , 87, passed away at home on April 27, 2025. Born  March 6, 1938, He was the son of the late Florence Hutchinson (James Beaver) and Oscar  Barbosa (Frances Witt).

Jim worked as a Butcher for Siller Beef for 20 years and then Shoprite for 35 Years until he retired. He loved to make repairs around the house and do the yard work.

Jim also loved to go camping, Bowling where he scored his first over 300 points after he had cancer, and going to the casino.

Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Goldie (Waterman) Barbosa, his children: Tammy Barbosa and James Barbosa, Jr., his sisters: Rose Marie Hedge and Jeanette Barbosa, and his step-children: Michael Miller, Carl Miller, Shirley (Bruce) Munson, Catherine (Peter) Capriotti, Lewis (Dorrie) Miller, Myrtle Kline, and James Johns (Amanda Hines). His is also survived by 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and step-parents, Jim is predeceased by his son Steven Babrosa and his sisters: Addlie Elworthow and Carol Keys.

The family would like to thank Hudson Valley Hospice for the special care they provided for Jim.
