James "Jimmy" Borgen

A celebration of life will be announced by the family.

James (Jimmy) Borgen, 31 of Saugerties, NY passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2023 at Vassar Brother Hospital with his loving family by his side. Jimmy was born on June 25, 1991 at Kingston Hospital. He was raised by his loving parents James Borgen and Rena Newkirk whom he had a special bond with. Besides his parents, Jimmy is survived by his mother Lisa Fernandez (Billy Arnold), of Palenville,  sisters Brittney Borgen (Bo Tabler) of Saugerties,  Amanda Lown (Andrew Johoda), of Germantown, brothers Jeffrey Lown (Amber Lown) Walkertown NC, a loving brother, Richie Newkirk whom he spent all of the weekends and holidays with, a special aunt, Taunta Linda Borgen, Hyde Park, aunt Julie Borgen, Florida, aunt Barbara Thomas and uncle Darren Bush, uncle Ray Fernandez of Palenville, nephews Carter Fitzpatrick and Wesley Johoda of Germantown, Jimmy had two Corgis at home (Ella & Jasper) that he loved so much. Jimmy is predeceased by several uncles Tom, John and Ed Borgen and a longtime best friend, his chocolate Lab "Jackson". Jimmy also had many neighbors and cousins that he grew up with and cared for him dearly.

Jimmy graduated in 2013, from St. Coleman's in Watervliet, NY. Upon graduation, Jimmy became a resident of the UGARC agency. He first resided in the Hurley house (Hurley) then moved to the Crescent house (Highland). Over the years, Many of Jimmy's residential staff and managers took him under their wings. They treated him as if he was one of their own. We are truly grateful for them. Jimmy loved them dearly. Jimmy always came home on weekends and holidays to be with his family. Jimmy loved music, watching videos, looking through his books, and looking at pictures of his family, friends, and characters from his favorite movies. He loved going to see Sesame Street live, the Barnum and Bailey Circus and Disney World. He once met all of the characters from Beauty and the Beast after the show. He loved camping, especially where there was water for him to swim. Jimmy was the Happiest person on earth. He was full of life and made a lasting impression on everyone that he encountered. His joy was contagious. He was the light at the end of the tunnel. He said "Hi" to everyone that he encountered. His smile was infectious and his laughter would light up a room full of people. He would have made a long lasting imprint on this world.
