James "Jimmy" Murphy, 68, passed away Friday August 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 12, 1958 in Kingston, a son of the late William and Shirley (Holstein) Murphy.
A truck driver by trade, Jimmy was very involved in the industry- working with New York State DOT with coordination, NY Drilling, and was particularly active in the moving service. He worked in conjunction with McCollister's and Roe Moving Companies, and was his own owner operator with United Van Lines. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed trips to Florida and especially loved Disney. He also followed the Little League World Series, and was able to see it in person prior to his illness.
Surviving is his wife Cindy Murphy, siblings William Murphy and his wife Mary, Ellen Cafaldo and her husband Pete, Sharon Fabiano and her husband Louis, Tina Heppner and her husband Charles Daly. Many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as a sister in law Claudette Zinkow and her husband Michael also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Betty Ann Dawkins and brother George Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, go play a round of golf and have a drink in memory of Jimmy.
