Jamie L. Allen

Jamie L. Allen, of Saugerties NY, died at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston Sunday August 30, 2026. Born in Kingston, February 21, 1967 a daughter of the late James R. Smith and Gettia Friedlander. She was the stepdaughter of the late Herbert Friedlander.

Jamie studied cosmetology, but her calling was to be a certified nursing assistant which she achieved. She was employed at the former Ulster County Infirmary, and various home health care agencies. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jamie cared for her children and others. She was fond of animals it is said "If it has fur she fed it," including a a bear that sat in the door way and watched TV with her all because she fed him and referred to it as “company." She was a volunteer at food pantries and community based causes. She was a former member of the Accord Fire Auxiliary and supported the Kerhonkson Accord Rescue Squad volunteering where ever she was needed.

Surviving are her husband of forty two years; Richard Allen. Sons; Richard James Allen and fiancee Cecilia Rainbow Sloan, and Robert William Allen and Fiancee Tori Bryde. Grandson Michael Anthony Ricks. Step grandkids from Wendy and Dan VanWagenen; Alice Rose and Lilly Marie VanWagenen. Sister, Rhonda Tompkins. Step sister Heather Smith.
