Janet Wikane, 83, of Stone Ridge died Saturday September 13, 2025. Born July 25, 1942 in Kingston, New York she was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Cooper) Vanderbeck Sr.

Janet was a graduate of Saugerties High School. She was the co-owner of J&J Hobbies in Kingston with her late husband Jerrold J. Brainard, Sr., opening in 1981. Janet ran the hobby shop from 1996 to 2015 after her husband's passing.

Janet is survived by her husband Mark H. Wikane, her sons Bryan Brainard of Tillson and Jerrold J. Brainard, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Saugerties. Three grandchildren, Dylan,Connor and Corey Brainard. Her siblings Bruce Vanderbeck and Emily Joyce Wynne.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Jerrold J. Brainard, Sr. and brother William Vanderbeck Jr.
