Jean Brandt, 77,
of Saugerties died Friday January 6, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 11, 1945 in Newburgh, she is the daughter of the late George and Rhoda (Churchwell) Arthurs.
Jean worked as a registered nurse, beginning her career at Hutton Nursing Home in Kingston. She then moved on to working as a nurse for the Ulster County Jail, and eventually ended her nursing career at United Cerebral Palsy. She was a member of the Saugerties Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and indoor gardener, tending to her house plants. In her retirement years she enjoyed visiting with the children of her daughters in home daycare, where she was known as Nanny Jean to every child.
Surviving is her daughter Heidi Brandt-Pagan and her husband Victor, loving nanny to Christopher Rocco and his wife Lovella, Cody Rocco (Katie Sullivan), Geoffrey Cole, Leigha Kelly and first great grand baby Phoenix Rocco. Step nanny to Brandon and Whitney Pagan, Dominic and Joshua Price. Two sisters Linda Cecelia and her husband Charlie, Joann Miller and her husband Bob. Life long best friend Margie Griffin. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Jean's husband Cornelius Kidney, daughter Tracey Arthurs-Kelly, and brother George Arthurs predeceased her.
Jean would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.
