Jean O. Misasi

A gathering of family and friends will be at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, 27 Smith Ave., Kingston on Friday, June 2nd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A funeral procession will form Saturday at 9:00 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church.

Jean O. Misasi, 97, of Hurley died May 20, 2023.

She was born in Commack, a daughter of the late Czeslaw and Kazimiera Wasniewski Omiecinski. For many years Jean worked in administration for PET Milk, NYC. Jean married Louis V. Misasi on September 26, 1964, and moved to Hurley.

Jean was the office administrator at The Archdiocesan Catechetical Office in Ulster County for many years. A parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, she was active in the Altar – Rosary Society. Jean loved baseball and was an avid Yankee fan. She belonged to the Hurley Heritage Society.

Her beloved husband, Louis, died January 18, 1993. Three sisters Mary Zgardowski, Helen Lenihan and Sophia Brusdeilins and one brother Chester Omiecinski all died previously.

Loving mother of Stefanie Messina and her husband Robert of Hurley, grandmother of Samantha Pratz and her husband Chris of Kingston, Anthony Messina and his wife Sophia of Kingston and Luke Messina of Brooklyn; great grandmother of Anabella and Demetrios Messina; aunt to many nieces and nephews.
