It is with great sadness to announce that our beloved brother Jeffrey Prosser passed away peacefully Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Jeff had been a resident at the OPWDD group home at Putman Lake Group home for many years. Here he participated at the Day Hab center where he had many friends both residents and staff. Jeff was called "the mayor" at Day Hab because he always knew what was going on with his peers and staff. He loved to talk to people both in person and on the phone. Jeff had a gift of remembering everyone's phone number. Many times staff would go to him if they forgot someone's phone number.
Jeff spent the last year in the Putnam Ridge Nursing home. Here Jeff had many friends both residents and staff due to his outgoing personality.
Jeff was a very social person who loved to be around people. He enjoyed being out in the community to go to events, shopping, lunch, a movie, and stopping at "Dunkin Donuts". Jeff was always thinking of others. One of his favorite things to do was write cards and letters to friends and family. Jeff was a special, kind loving person loved by his family and many people. Jeff had a special bond with his twin Donna and would always refer to her as "my twin Donna."
Jeff will be missed very much but will remain forever in our hearts.
Jeff is predeceased by his parents Jerry and Iola Prosser. He is survived by his twin sister Donna (of Cazenovia), sister Susan (of Williamsville), brother Stephen (of New Paltz), and his fiancé Jane Verney, sister Judy (of Kingston). He is survived by his nephew Zachary, nieces MacKenzie and Marin and their mother, Robin Finch.
