Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 PM.
A funeral service will be held Saturday 11 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kingston.
Joan Gallo, 83, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday November 14, 2023 at HealthAlliance Hospital:Mary's Avenue Campus in Kingston. She was born on January 7, 1940 in Kingston, a daughter of the late Louis and Teresa (Tiano) Salvino.
Joan was a waitress for numerous restaurants in the area, working for her friends Mike and Betty at the Gateway Diner and the Acropolis Diner. She loved to garden and was an avid reader, usually reading political thriller novels. She enjoyed watching FOX News and traveling with her family. While traveling, it was not uncommon for Joan to stop at small antique stores along the way to browse their selection.
Surviving are her daughters, Dina Blauvelt and her husband, Martin with whom she resided, Terri-Ann Cornachia, Joni Chambers, grandchildren, Joshua Holmes and his wife Sabrina, Rachel Williams and her husband John, Zachary Blauvelt and his wife Kaysie, Joshua, Nathaniel and Ashley Blauvelt, Ronald Chambers and his wife Mary, Sean Chambers, Robert Howard, Mark Howard, Shaun Howard; great-grandchildren, Katherine, Joshua, Benjamin Holmes, Cameron and Lydia Williams, Annabelle Reyes, Teyla Blauvelt. A sister Rosemary Schultz as well as many nieces and nephews also survive.
Joan was predeceased by her husband James P. Gallo, Jr.
A special thank you from the family to Dr. Ghani and the staff at Kingston Dialysis, Mobile Life Support Services and the nurses at 5 Spellman at HealthAlliance Hospital:Mary's Avenue Campus for their care and compassion.
