A funeral mass was held for Joan at St. Josephs church and a burial was held at St. Mary's cemetery in Kingston.

NY. Joan F. Petramale, 99 of Palm Bay, Fl. passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospice in Melbourne, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan (Cahill) Petramale was born on February 24, 1927, in Kingston, New York, the cherished daughter of Alexander P. Cahill and Margaret Hizen Cahill. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1945.

In 1948, Joan married Pasquale “Patsy” Petramale, and together they shared 75 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and devotion.

Joan dedicated herself fully to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, care, and tradition. She was an incredibly talented seamstress, sewing dresses and clothing for her children, as well as the curtains that made their house a home. Her kitchen was the heart of family life, where she prepared countless meals, including unforgettable Christmas Eve feasts that brought together extended family and friends.

Joan was an extraordinary example of what it means to be a wife mother and grandmother. Her life radiated the grace of God. She was a woman of deep faith, devoted to prayer and the rosary. She was grounded in the belief that while people may sometimes let you down God never will. Her strength came from an unwavering faith that carried her through every challenge and allowed her to face life with courage and peace.

Joan is survived by her five children: Daughters: Jean Van Amburgh of Kingston, New York, and Judy Petramale-Gillespie (Dave) of Melbourne, Florida; and Sons: Thomas Petramale of Palm Bay, Florida, Joseph Petramale of Kingston, New York, and Stephen Petramale of Los Angeles, California. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Pasquale “Patsy” Petramale; her grandson, Zachary Petramale; and her siblings Rita Cahill Kinkade, Mary Anita Cahill, Stanley Cahill, Alexander “Babe” Cahill, Paul F. Cahill, Charlotte Cahill McSpirit, and Genevieve Cahill Jaffer.

We were profoundly blessed to have our mother with us for so many years. She passed on Easter Sunday the holiest day of the year and a day of resurrection. It brings great comfort to know she was welcomed into heaven, embraced by Jesus with open arms, and greeted with the words, “Well done.

”She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always loved.
